The cache is in a clear tupperware container with a blue lid.
*6/6/03:Container has been changed to a standard ammo can.* The
main trail comes to within about 300 ft of the cache. This is a
picturesque, not too difficult (~2.4mi each way, ~600 ft elevation
gain) walk along the creek.
The first part of the trail is well-frequented, but after this
waypoint (N46 22.923, W114 16.727) it is less traveled. Take some
time to check out the cascades at the waypoint. The big boulders
here can be used a picnic spot, watch out though - there is a big
drop off onto the rocks below. There might be high waters during
the spring runoff, and the area will get snowed in during winter.
Beyond the wilderness boundary there are some great lakes to hike
to, but they are pretty far in (6+ miles).
This cache celebrates Jen's finally (9.5 years) graduating from
college so we decided to go with a Grizzly(UofM) theme. Besides, it
is Bear Creek. :)
Coordinates were checked multiple times approaching from different
directions with 5 satellites locked and an error radius of
26ft.
NOTE: Make sure to sign the cache logbook, as online "Found
It" logs without a corresponding entry in the logbook will be
deleted. We wouldn't want any "cheaters" now would we.
