Geocache Description:

A nice and easy 'Park and Grab' cache

This is a small 35mm film canister containing a log book and pencil. The area can be quite busy with both cars and pedestrians so stealth will be required at peak times. The view overlooks local fishing lodges and the Three Sisters recreation area and on a clear day you can see the Winter Hill Masts and Haigh Hall Country House. The view is also lovely at night when all the street lights are lit up over Wigan.

When the houses where being built on the opposite side of the road part of the old Roman road was found that ran from Warrington to Wigan. Nearby in Ashton in Makerfield a coin of Trajan was found.

This road can be very busy, please keep your dogs and kids on a tight lead ;)
