Himeji Sta.
The Himeji station was established in 1888. Lunch boxes were put on sale in the station in 1890. It is the origin of the Ekiben in Japan. The station building is the largest in Hyogo prefecture at present.
The north side of the station was maintained while the castle repair. An observatory called "Castle View" has been built at the north entrance. It is 2 stories building made by steel and wood frames. Cedar trees produced in Himeji (Himeji Sugi) are used as materials. You can enjoy a view in the second floor.
This cache is placed outside the station. Please enjoy the scenery from the deck when you visit Himeji. After that, please do your work carefully because there are many travelers always.

姫路駅
JR姫路駅は兵庫県で最大の駅舎・駅ビルを持つ駅のようです。1890年には折箱に入った駅弁が発売され、それは現在の駅弁の原型と言われています。駅の北側は城下町として発展してきた古い市街地で、南側は戦後に発達した市街地です。
駅の北側は『城を望み、時を感じ、人が交流するおもてなし広場』というコンセプトで、お城の改修に合わせて整備されました。以前ロータリーがあったあたりは 整地され、お城の展望施設ができました。キャッスルビューと呼ばれるこの施設は2階建てとなっています。鉄と木材を組み合わせた造り で、木材としては安富町産の姫路杉を使用しているようです。
姫路に訪れた際には、まずはこのキャッスルビューでお城の展望をお楽しみください。帰りに見納めで訪れてもいいかもしれません。ついでにキャッシュハントをどうぞ。周囲に気を配ってすばやく作業してください。
