Geocache Description:

I had some fun cache ideas over the last two years but have been kicking them down the road for a while, now that my 100th (physical) hide is coming up I am keen to make them work and to share them with you! This is hide 99.

Telecommunications refers to the exchange of information over distances, and it has become an integral part of modern life. One of the key components of telecommunications is the use of country codes, which are numerical prefixes that are used when dialing international telephone numbers.

Country codes are typically two or three digits long and are assigned to each country by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). When dialing an international phone number, the caller must first enter the country code, followed by the area code (if applicable) and then the local phone number.

The use of country codes ensures that calls are properly routed to the correct destination, regardless of where in the world the caller or recipient is located. Without country codes, it would be difficult or impossible to place international calls reliably and efficiently. Lets try and call the following numbers:

  • +Australia
  • Germany
  • USA
  • Australia
  • Columbia
  • South Korea +1
