Geocache Description:

One of the many headlands along this picturesque coast, which has a European history dating back prior to the settlement of Port Macquarie. Named by Matthew Flinders (1774-1814) who in 1802 'tacked' off the point in his ship the Investigator during his circumnavigation of Australia.

From this vantage point you can look south along Lighthouse Beach, which can be accessed by 4wd if you have a current beach driving permit. At the beach there are also camel rides available during holiday periods and on most weekends, but from this high point see if you can spot any passing pods of dolphins.
