Skerries Mills Industrial Heritage Centre is situated in the seaside town of Skerries about 30 Km north of Dublin City The complex comprises a watermill, 5 sail windmill, 4 sail windmill and associated mill races, mill pond and wetlands. The history of the mills can be traced back to the 16th Century and a bakery was established on the site by 1840. The mills demonstrate a clean and efficient use of water and wind power and are a rare survival of 17th., 18th. and 19th. Century industrial history.
Getting There:
The Park is situated within easy walking distance of Skerries Village. By Car: Signposted from the M1/N1 Dublin-Belfast north of Swords. Car parking is provided By Bus: Bus 33 from Eden Quay in Dublin city centre to Skerries village. Get off the bus at Holmpatrick Church. By Train: Northbound trains from Connolly or Pearse Street Stations stopping at Skerries Train Station. The mills are about a 5 minute walk from the station.
