Geocache Description:

Third (and only surviving) cache in my series of places of fun North Seattle spots to walk your dog, this cache takes you to the Union Bay Natural Area, adjacent to the UW's Urban Horticulture Center, a favorite area of one of the better looking Dog Walkers.

While it's not a place to take your dog off-leash, it is a great short loop walk on a Sunday morning, or anytime. The wetlands are a brownfield which has been restored, and there is a great variety of wildlife at most any time of the year.

The walking loop is exposed to the weather (which will matter little to native Seattleites) but everyone should bring sturdy, waterproof shoes most of the year. Note that you do not need to walk the loop to find the cache. On the weekend, parking is much easier, and you can (almost) park and grab.

Please rehide carefully, and as best you can, avoid beating a geotrail.

The cache is in plain view, and will be familiar to those who have visited my other caches. However, please take care when replacing the cache, so the working end is camouflaged. And of course, be aware of muggles, as this is a very popular walking and jogging area, and sadly, a sometime respite for some of Seattle's residentially challenged.

2010-7-19: Recent finders have been posting finds without signing, uh, the log. So, remember to BYOP. If you don't have a writing utensil, take a pic of yourself with the cache and post it with your log online. After July 2010, no handle written in the log or pic posted, then it really doesn't qualify as a legitimate find. Happy caching!

2015-3-22 After too long a wait, I have finally created a replacement. The cache gets a new box, new coordinates, new attributes, etc. Cache on.
