Geocache Description:

"The City of Gilroy is hosting the annual cleanup of Uvas Creek. Come out with your family and neighbors and enjoy a morning of community service. Volunteers will meet at Christmas Hill Park on April 29th at 9am."

The City of Gilroy sent out a press release for their annual clean up so we thought we would climb on board and have an event. Please join us in cleaning up the creek bed between Miller and Thomas Roads, meeting at 9am and finishing clean up at Noon. Please bring your own gloves and pickers to ensure you have them, and even buckets if that is your preferred container.

They are encouraging everyone to sign up on their link so they know how many supplies to bring: https://apm.activecommunities.com/gilroy/Activity_Search/volunteers-creek-cleanup-family-service-day/4762

Remember, you will have waivers to sign (one for the Water District and one for the city) to participate in this event. (At this moment I am waiting for these documents to be emailed to me. I will email them to anyone who wants to have them printed out ahead of time to turn in on event day rather than waiting to fill them out when you arrive.)

We will meet again at Noon at the specifed coords to make some groups and help some new geocachers with those caches hidden in the park and nearby. We will have quite a few new people to introduce to geocaching!

*** While the focus of this event will be to clean up the creek, if there are any who wish to participate but have limited mobility, the park/picnic areas would be a great alternative and most definitely welcomed. (There are a couple of wheel chair accessible caches within the park as well.) ***
