[ENG] The cache is placed in Salaspils Memorial Ensemble. Conteiner is a medium size plastic box which contains logbook and pen.

Salaspils Memorials atklats 1967.gada 31. oktobri bijušas fašistu vaditas koncentracijas nometnes vieta (ta pastaveja laika posma no 1941.-1944.g.). Ka liecina vestures materiali, Salaspils koncentracijas nometnes oficialais nosaukums bija "Salaspils policijas cietums un darba audzinašanas nometne", par “naves un šausmu nometni” to nosaucis Padomju informacijas birojs 1944. gada 15. novembra zinojuma. Viedokli par to, cik nevainigu cilveku nometnes pastavešanas laika zaudejuši dzivibu, atškiras (tiek lests, ka mirušo skaits parsniedz 100 000). Upurus apraka visrinki izraktajas liku bedres.
Memoriala ansambla teritorijas kopeja platiba ir ~25 ha. 1994.gada to nodeva Salaspils pašvaldibas parzina.
Salaspils memorialais ansamblis pazistams ar to, ka ir viens no lielakajiem šada veida piemineklu kompleksiem Eiropa un ir ieverojams turistu apskates objekts (ik gadu to apmekle videji ~15 000 ciklveku). 2012.gada nogale Salaspils memorialam, Latvijas valsts kulturas, makslas un vestures piemineklim aprites 45. gadi kopš ta atklašanas briža.
Memoriala vartu buve iekartota neliela muzeja ekspozicija, no kuras var uzzinat par šo vietu mazliet sikak.
[ENG] During World War II, the Nazis established the Stalag-350-s, a camp for Soviet prisoners of the world war, in Salaspils. Two km outside of the city, in the forest, the Nazi SS also established the largest civilian concentration camp in the Baltics. The exact numbers of those who died at Stalag-350-s is the subject of ongoing debates. According to a different reports (published in the 1980s by the Soviet Union claim and also indicated in archival documents of the Soviet provenance recently published in Russia) the total number of killed in Salaspils concentration camp is to be about 100,000. Recent scholarship produced outside Russia questions the magnitude of these Soviet-era figures.
Major monument complex in remembrance of Soviet victims of the Nazism was opened on 31 October 1967.
According to eye-witness account, by E. K. Salijums, Soviet children in particular were annihilated by the Nazis through "medical experiments", from which 150 children died each day. Totally from 1942 to 1944 there`s about 12,000 Soviet children passed through the camp, most of them being tortured by pumping out their blood.
In 1994 the Memorial was passed to Salaspils municipality responsible and until now it`s open for tourists.
