Geocache Description:

Another WiseGuy cache, in a great scenic locale above Juliaetta. Looking for a round Nalgene container about 6 inches in diameter.

The City of Juliaetta was named after Charles Snyder's two daughters, Julia and Etta. Charles Snyder was a pioneer rancher on American Ridge. Back in the 1890's he succeeded in having a post office on his farm. Mr. Snyder eventually moved his post office and his store to the town site. The name Juliaetta attached itself to the town, which was at that time named Schupher and Schupherville. On May 24th, 1890 the citizens circulated a petition requesting that the town be known as Juliaetta. (Thanks to www.kendrick-juliaetta.org for the info.)
