Geocache Description:

Cache is off Fong-on Bay camp area which in turn is off Dambulla Drive around Tinaroo Lake on the Atherton Tablelands

Cache is a plastic container which, besides the usual log book and swap items, contains a first Time Finder’s trophy.

Park in the vicinity of S 17º 09.388’ E 145º 35.624 and walk down the track or, depending on the level of the water, park around S 17º 09.318’ E 145º35.517’ and walk along the edge of the lake. Distance to the cache is about one kilometre. The track is the easier terrain to walk, but the grass in places is head high and coarse. It is essential to wear clothing that protects feet, arms and legs in both options. If you have access to a boat or canoe the going will be much easier.
The area from which you start for this cache is a great place to camp for a geocaching weekend. Camps must be pre-booked however. This can be done online at (visit link) From here a number of caches ranging from the easy family oriented to the more challenging such as Leech Cave can be accessed.
