Geocache Description:

A quick trip to view the public artworks in Belconnen. There are only two and they are fairly close together. You can walk and/or ride if you like or there is parking near all waypoints. There is also water nearby so please watch the sprouts.

The first waypoint will show you the first public artwork in Belconnen. I used to work across the road and would sometimes bring my staff to this point for morning meetings.

Polished stainless steel cubes.
Margaret Timpson Park, Benjamin Way, Belconnen
A series of highly-polished metal cubes appear to tumble across Margaret Timpson Park in the heart of the Belconnen Town Centre. This is one of three works by this celebrated Australian artist in Canberra: one work is permanently displayed in the Sculpture Garden at The National Gallery of Australia and another conceptual work is buried in the earth at Commonwealth Park.

At this point you need to count the objects and then multiply by the number of sides to give you "the answer" AB. The second waypoint is S35° 14.BBA E149° 04.A0A.

The second waypoint is the plaque explaining this birthday gift to Belconnen from the ACT Government. Happy 40th Belconnen. If you do this multi during the day I would suggest you come back at night some time to view a different perspective.

Lake Ginninderra
Running Lights is a series of brightly-coloured columns that respond to Lake Ginninderra and its environment. They chime and sway, and in the evening they shine across the water.

There is a plaque here that explains more about the structures. How many structures there are C. Number of letters in the colour of the middle (unlit) structure D. Number of green lids on the brick structure nearby and behind E.

GZ is a leisurely stroll away at S35° 14.(C-E)(C-D)(C) E149° 04.(2D)(C+D-2E)(C+E). Plenty of things to play on for the kids on the way.

Initial cache contents have a birthday them but this does not have to continue.
