River Rat Series along the Schuylkill.
Put in at Douglassville. There is a park along Old Reading Pike.
We admit it, we started it. We wanted to combine our love of the river, passion for kayaking and geocaching. So we set a couple of caches to get people to the river. Then koikeeper, ImpalaBob and Bleeded973 decided to join the fun. They in turn got MajorT and anuebunnie to join them on a recent river trip. So we decided -- more caches! And since I am writing this, I deem this group the original River Rats!
To EdScott who will manage to find these caches while keeping most of himself dry (probably because he can walk on water) we salute you! You will always be my hero. And to the others who have found the caches by wading, good for you too! But try the river route -- it is a heck of a lot easier, and the trip is worth it.
Put In is at Ganshahawny Park in Douglassville. The entrance is N40 14.970 W075 42.988. Take Out is at Hanover Road boat ramp in Pottstown. The parking area is N40 13.479 W075 37.126.
