The route follows public footpaths, with one section being alongside Wellow Brook. In winter months the paths can be a little muddy (especially between number 8,9 and then back to the road) and the brook can be quite deep and fast flowing in places. Whilst we placed the route with our child, we recommend you keep an eye on any geo-children. If you want to avoid the muddiest section you can double back from cache 8 and follow the cycle path back up to Wellow for a different route.
Tweezers may be useful to extract the logs in a few caches.
As well as the Wellow Wander you can also visit:
GC20DD6, Memories are made of this, located between Wellow Wander 7 and 8
GC43JG0, Norton Lane 5 – The Ford between Wellow Wander 9 and 10
GC5PPJQ – Church Micro 7517…Wellow a short walk to the East of the Fox and Badger
Parking
There is good sized car park in Wellow, waypoint 1.
Directions
After Wellow Wander 1 turn left under the bridge and follow the path down to the brook. NOTE: This footpath is closed Monday – Thursdays until the 31st March 2016 for sheep grazing. An alternative route is to go Wellow Wander number 10 then turn right after the pub to GC43JG0, Norton Lane 5 – The Ford. From here you can pick up the path that goes up alongside the house (waypoint 4) to follow Wellow Brook to Wellow Wander number 2.
