How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

On August 30th from 6 - 7:30pm, any and all geocachers are cordially invited to meet with Dr. Clint Barineau, an Associate Professor of Geology at Columbus State University and the Chair of the Earth and Space Sciences at Columbus State University.

We'll be meeting with him at Jordan Hall, on the Columbus State University main campus, which is where the listed coordinates will take you to. Inside Jordan Hall, he'll be able to better guide our discussion showing us digital maps of the local geology and answer any questions that we might have.

Think of this event as, "Everything you wanted to know about Geology but were afraid to ask!"

Parking is simple as it is right outside Jordan Hall in Lot 18A. Parking is free as is the event itself.

CVC is hosting this event in conjunction with the Earth and Space Sciences Department in order to further develop an interest in geology as a whole as well as geology in the Chattahoochee Valley. What is a "Fall Line?" Why is Flat Rock Park flat? Why is Georgia dirt red?

Geocaching is an outdoor adventure and the more you know about the gameboard, the more you'll enjoy it!

The only request we have is that if you'll be attending (and we hope you do)...let us know how many we can expect.
