I recently ordered some special fireflies from the Midwest thinking how neat it would be to have them around the backyard on warm summer evenings. They soon disappeared however……
Eventually I discovered they hadn’t gone far and were now hanging out along one of the local walking paths. They seem to be pointing the way to a new cache, one that I hadn’t posted yet on the geocaching website!
If you’d like to see this phenomena yourself, start at the posted coords and follow the trail the fireflies have arranged themselves along. You’ll see them best if you hold a flashlight level with your eyes and alongside your head. Please don’t disturb the little fireflies so others can enjoy them too.
The cache is marked by a new firefly, one that I had never seen before! This large blue firefly seems to have settled within 10 feet of my cache so I left her there and posted my story so you can find the cache easily.
