Geocache Description:

Jimbei Watashi is the historic ferry crossing used by Sakura Sogo when he made his direct appeal, on behalf of the local peasants, to the Shogun for lower taxes.

Jimbei Watashi is believed to have been named after Jimbei, the ferryman who took Sakura Sogo across the river in defiance of prohibition enforced by the Shogun. At present the ferry crossing is part of the Prefectural Imbanuma Natural Park, where the fishing for carp, crucian carp, and Japanese bitterlings can be enjoyed.
