Geocache Description:

This is the second cache placed in a series of caches highlighting the San José Public Library system. I will place a few caches every week until the opening of the new MLK Main Library, when this series will have its grand finale.

This cache is a medicine bottle with log only. Please bring your own writing utensil. This container is large enough to fit very small trade items.

Cambrian Branch Library first opened in 1961 as the fourth branch library built in San José Library System. The branch was expanded in 1986 to 10,126 sq. ft. It is one of the busiest branch libraries in the system. The service area ranges from Curtner Avenue in the North, to Blossom Hill in the South and from Capitol Expressway to Highway 880. There are over 97,000 people in the service area.

Cambrian Library has books, magazines, videos, DVDs, newspapers, compact discs, educational software and books-on-tapes. A selection of ESL material is also available. There are more than 125,000 items in the collection to serve children, teens and adults.

Cambrian has four sign-up Internet stations and two non-reserved 15 minute Internet stations.

Construction will begin in 2005 on the new, larger Cambrian branch, funded by capital improvement bonds.
