Puvodni lakros slouzil indianum jako alternativa k valce pri reseni sporu, ale take k udrzeni kondice.
Dnesni nazev vymysleli francouzsti misionari. Puvodni indianská hul se totiz podobala biskupske berle – „la crosse“.
Postupem casu se v ruznych castech sveta vyvinulo nekolik dalsich verzi, ktere se lisi predevsim poctem hracu, hraci dobou, velikosti hrište a zpusobem jakym je mozne zneskodnit soupere.
Zensky lakros je bezkontaktni sport a proto nepozaduje zadne chranice, pouze hracky do 18 let si musi chranit zuby a oci.
Muzsky lakrosu se mezi sebou jeste odlisuje tim, zda je kontaktni či nekontaktni. Kontaktni verze pozaduji chranice na ruzne casti tela (samozrejme podle verze).
Radotin patri mezi ceske basty lakrosu. S nadsazkou se da rici, ze každy radotinak tusi kde a jak se lakros hraje. Mezi nejvetsi soupere LCC Radotin patri dlouhá leta SK LC Jizni Mesto. O titul hraje temer vzdy tyto dva tymy a jejich utkani se daji prirovnat k derby Sparta - Slavia. Samozrejme v mensim meritku.
Mezi nejvetsi uspechy ceskeho lakrosu nepochybne patri 4. misto na MS hned za Kanadou, USA a jednim indianskym kmenem. Tento kmen ma totiz v lakrosove unii jeste exkluzivnejsi postaveni než Velka Britanie v kopane, kde ma kazdy stat reprezentacni tym. Tady se jedna pouze o kmen.
Za velky uspech Ceske lakrosove unie se da take zcela jiste povazovat konani nejvetsich evropskych ci svetovych akci v Praze.
Kazdym rokem se v Radotine kona koncem dubna Memorial Alese Hrebeskeho (letos jiz 19. rocnik). Jde o nejvetsi boxlakrosovy turnaj v Evrope. Ucastni se ho reprezentacni vybery temer vsech zemi, kde se boxlakros hraje a nejlepsi ceske tymy.
Nektera utkani z tohoto turnaje v minulych letech vysilala i Ceska televize. Ale jak plati u kazdeho sportu, videt to na vlastni oci je daleko vetsi zazitek.
Nejznamejsim (ale urcite ne nejlepsim) hracem boxlakrosu byl hokejista Wayne Gretzky, ktery ho hraval v lete jako doplnkovy sport k hokeji.

Some basic information about a sport which is one of the biggest in Radotin.
The original lacrosse was used by Indians as an alternative to war for solving the conflicts but also for keeping fit.
The name as we know it today was invented by French missionaries. The authentic stick in fact resembled a crosier - "la crosse".
Over time, various countries have developed several other versions that differ mainly in the number of players, playing time, the size of the field and the way in which it is possible to disarm the opponents.
Women's lacrosse is a noncontact sport and therefore does not require any protecting pads, but girls below 18 must protect their teeth and eyes.
Male lacrosse can be contact or non-contact. Contact lacrosse version demands protecting pads for various body parts (of course depending on the version).
Lacrosse is popular in Radotin. With exaggeration, one can say that every resident has an idea where and how to play lacrosse. The biggest rival of LCC Radotin include for a long time SK LC Jižní Město. These two teams usually play for the title and their matches can be compared to the derby Sparta - Slavia. Of course, on a smaller scale.
Among the greatest achievements of Czech lacrosse undoubtedly belong the fourth place at the World Championship behind Canada, the USA and one of the Indian tribes. This Indian tribe has even more exclusive status in lacrosse Union than the UK in football, where each country has a national team. This is “only” a tribe.
As great success of the Czech Lacrosse Union can also be considered holding the biggest European or world events in Prague.
Every year at the end of April there is held a Memorial of Ales Hrebesky(this is already the 19th year) in Radotin. It is the largest box - lacrosse tournament in Europe. It involves teams of almost all countries where they play box - lacrosse and the best Czech teams.
Some matches of this tournament in the past years were broadcasted by Czech Television. But as with any sport it is true that, to see it with your own eyes is much more enjoyable experience.
The most famous (but certainly not the best) player of box - lacrosse was the ice - hockey player Wayne Gretzky, who played box - lacrosse in the summer as a complementary sport to ice - hockey.
