We are taking an art tour with this cache highlighting 4 works of
concrete sculptor Dionicio Rodriguez. Rodriguez perfected a
technique of carving and tinting chemically treated concrete so
that it looked like wood. He never divulged his secret process to
anyone, and when he died in 1955, his secret for sculpting concrete
went with him. His works are scattered around San Antonio, mostly
in the Brackenridge/Olmos Basin area.
The first coordinates will take you to Sculpture #1 that is
still being used today.
