Geocache Description:

Best known for the words, "Be sure you're right and then go ahead," Davy Crockett was respected for his honesty and sincerity. It was those values that have made him a hero to many people today.

(Walt Disney made a television series about Davy Crockett, starring Fess Parker, that was on television when I was a kid. My brother and I became instant Davy Crockett fans. We had coon skin caps and knew most of the verses of the theme song, The Ballad of Davy Crockett, by heart. This is the inspiration for this Trilogy of Davy Crockett caches.)

This is a virtual cache. To log find: visit posted coordinates, email me answers to the following questions, and log your find.

Questions:

1. Where are you?
2. Which of Davy's Forefathers are connected
to this site?
3. Who donated wall and in what year?

Hope you enjoy this little trip back in history. Be sure to check out other 2 caches in this trilogy.

(*Interesting note: The elder Davy Crockett, Davy's grandfather, left the settled lands of North Carolina and crossed the mountains into present-day East Tennessee, in search of fresh territory to settle. While his older sons were away with the Revolutionary army at King's Mountain in 1777, the grandfather and his wife, were two of a dozen or so settlers living near present-day Rogersville who were massacred by Creek and Cherokee Indians.)
