Located at the far north side of Eagle Lake in an ammo box.
Located at the far north side of Eagle lake. This cache is in a 30 cal ammo box. Area is closed at night and highly patrolled so don't attempt this after dusk or campus police will hem you up. Please take something and leave something behind. If you notice trash on your way to the cache site, there are trash bags inside the cache. Grab one and pick some garbage up on your way out. The terrain rating is a 3 simply due to fallen trees on the path but the path isn't hard at all. Start your hike on the gravel road to the left of the lake, youll eventually notice the path after the gravel road ends. Cache is located off the path a bit and is fairly well hidden. The hills will make your GPS nearly useless but it is placed in the correct spot!
Created in 1950 with the impoundment of Evans Branch on the northern edge of the campus, this pristine, 30-acre lake was named for the majestic symbol of the University, the American Bald Eagle. Except for a small portion at the north end where Evans Branch empties into the lake, the shoreline property is owned by the University.
