Geocache Description:

The property now known as St. Patrick's County Park was once a working farm operated by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Crops and livestock were maintained here for food production at Saint Mary's College. The Red Barn, originally a dairy barn, is one of the largest wooden barns in northern Indiana and is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Today it is a rental facility for large events and gatherings. At the north end of the park is a planting of evergreens that spell "St. Patrick's."

Activities available:  playground, picnic sites, hiking, canoe rentals, winter innertubing, cross country ski trails and rentals, public access boat ramp for the St. Joseph River

Opening and closing hours vary during the year. Gate entry fees are in effect on the weekends and holidays from April-October. Gate fees also collected on Fridays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. For hours of operation and gate fees; sjcparks.org.
