This is the third time I am hosting an event as I travel to Michigan to visit family. The first was on July 7, 2015 in Kentwood,http://coord.info/GC5XNK9 and the second was in Portage on November 11, 2015, https://coord.info/GC666KX. Both of those were early morning events so people could attend on their way to work.
But this time I have time on a Sunday so it can be a little bit later and last a bit longer. I am inviting as many people as possible to stop by and just say "Hi", exchange Travelers or pathtags, and get credit for attending an event. I am hoping that some of those many people just getting into the game will be able to come and meet some of the many experienced geocachers in the Portage/Kalamazoo area and surrouding communities. "It's not about the numbers. It's about the places you go and the people you know."
In February 2008, I set the geocache, "Winged Arrows", http://coord.info/GC19J16, in Kentwood as part of my Michigan Connection. (Born in Grand Rapids and have three children, 11 grandchildren and two brothers in the area.) I would like to meet some of the people associated with the 367 finds on that cache in its 8-year run. I am hoping to reset "Winged Arrows", but can only do so if I can get a local geocacher willing to be my Maintenance Partner.
