The following is the story I have been told about Jonaas the Great, he was Lithuanian and performed on the trapeze and tightrope.
Jonaas lived near GZ and made the sculptures that stand before you.
Then one day during practice on the trapeze he dropped his wife, and unfortunately she died a few days later due to her injuries.
Jonaas then moved out in the bush near (Jonaas the Great GCVGEF) and built the statue while working on the Forestry Commission .
Many years later, Jonaas became ill and moved back to Lithuania where he passed away.
