When: November 6, 2013; 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Where: Outlook Shelter in South Park
N 40 18.752 / W 79 59.920 (Please not these changed from original coords)
Why: ISS Travel Bug Souvenir / Food / Fellowship
When I first started geocaching, I couldn't believe there was really a cache in space - we thought it was pretty cool that astronauts would take time to enjoy the same hobby we did!
On November 6, 2013 a travel bug will be making its way to the International Space Station. This event (To infinity...and beyond!) is to commemorate the liftoff of the shuttle that will take the traveler there. Of course, the event also gives us a reason to get together with our fellow geocaching community, eat some food, share some of our own geocaching space stories - and earn a special souvenir.
This is a low-key event. We will provide pizza from a local shop and ask attendees to bring some drinks, snacks, and/or desserts. Paper plates, napkins, forks, cups will be provided.
Please post your "Will Attend" so I can get an idea of how much pizza I need to order....and also indicate what you will bring.
This is our first time hosting an event, so you never know what will happen....neither do we! There are many caches nearby - so come early or stay late to do some caching in the area.
We are looking forward to seeing our geocaching buddies and meeting some new friends!
"To infinity...and beyond!"
