This earthcache is located west of Quechee Village off of Route 4. You can view the gorge from the pedestrian walkway on the bridge.

Quechee Gorge is over a mile in length. This awesome natural feature was formed over thousands of years ago due to many climate changes including the ice age. At that time a huge ice sheet covered the Ottaqueche River. Thousands of years later as the climate began to warm,the river began to flow again and began to work its way through the present Quechee Gorge. It began eroding not just the soft mud, but the bedrock ridge as well. The river slowly ate away at the hard schist of the bedrock and created this spectacular gorge.
