Pedreguer es un municipio situado en Alicante, la provincia sureña de la comunidad autónoma de Valencia; tiene una superficie de 30 km². Pedreguer tiene actualmente alrededor de 7500 habitantes. Pedreguer se encuentra en la Costa Blanca, la ciudad más cercana más grande es Dénia (10 km) y a unos 50 kilómetros está el famoso balneario Benidorm.
Pero además de sus residentes permanentes, Pedreguer también "alberga" a una gran cantidad de no-residentes. Pedreguer tiene varias urbanizaciones y Monte Pedreguer es una de ellas. Las otras urbanizaciones son Cometa-Oberta, Monte Solana y Monte Sella. Antes de que se construyera la urbanización Monte Pedreguer y en los primeros años de la urbanización, los pastores caminaban regularmente por su rebaño en el camino de acceso a la montaña. Los caminos existentes (de polvo) en la montaña eran entonces Avenida del Garrofer y Carrer del Xiprer; el resto era naturaleza virgen. Las primeras casas de la urbanización Pedreguer se construyeron a finales de los años 70 del siglo pasado. Agentes inmobiliario ofrecieron a sus compradores potenciales un viaje bien organizado para ofrecer sus bienes: terrenos de construcción. Las casas residenciales se podrían construir sobre esta base, según su propio diseño y con la ayuda del constructor y el arquitecto. De esta manera, la mayoría de los holandeses, alemanes e ingleses construyeron su casa de vacaciones soñada aquí. A menudo, los no residentes residen en esta urbanización.

Pedreguer is a municipality located in the southern province Alicante of the autonomous community of Valencia; it has an area of 30 km². Pedreguer currently has around 7500 inhabitants. Pedreguer is located on the Costa Blanca, the nearest larger town is Dénia (10 km) and about 50 kilometers is the famous resort of Benidorm.
But in addition to its permanent residents, Pedreguer also “hosts” a great many non-residents. Pedreguer has a number of urbanizations and Monte Pedreguer is one of them. The other urbanizations are Cometa-Oberta, Monte Solana and Monte Sella. Before the Monte Pedreguer urbanization was built and in the early years of the urbanization, shepherds regularly walked their herd on the access road to the mountain. The existing (gravel) roads on the mountain were then Avenida del Garrofer and Carrer del Xiprer; the rest was unspoiled nature. The first houses of the Pedreguer urbanization were built at the end of the 70s of the last century. Brokers offered their potential buyers a well-organized journey to offer their goods: plots of building land. Residential houses could then be built on this, based on their own design and with the help of builder and architect. In this way, mostly Dutch, Germans and English have had their dream holiday home built here. Often non-residents reside in this urbanization.
The owners of this cache also ended up in Pedreguer in this way, albeit as a "second generation". According to the wishes of the first owners, the built house has remained "in the family" and now the second, third and fourth generation regularly experience a wonderful stay in this beautiful area.
Striking about this urbanization is the particularly beautiful entrance gate, an initiative of the then board of the "Neighbors of Monte Pedreguer". The swimming pool at the bottom of the mountain, behind the Black Flame restaurant, used to be available for general use of the entire Monte Pedreguer urbanization. Later, the swimming pool, legal or not, was incorporated into the Oquins neighborhood, which is located at the bottom of the mountain.
The "Monte Pedreguer" cache is located on the access road of the urbanization near the restaurant "Black Flame", formerly "Monroes Restaurant & Carvery". To find the cache, it is best to park in the parking lot in front of the restaurant. The cache is a small box with a logbook (with some nice toys for children at the start), which can also contain trackables. A pen must be brought yourself.

Pedreguer is een gemeente die in de zuidelijke provincie Alicante van de autonome gemeenschap Valencia ligt; het heeft een oppervlakte van 30 km². Op het ogenblik telt Pedreguer ongeveer 7500 inwoners. Pedreguer ligt aan de Costa Blanca, de dichtstbijzijnde grotere plaats is Dénia (10 km) en op ongeveer 50 kilometer ligt de bekende badplaats Benidorm.
Maar Pedreguer “herbergt” naast zijn vaste inwoners, ook nog heel veel niet-residenten. Pedreguer telt namelijk een aantal urbanisaties en daar is Monte Pedreguer er één van. De andere urbanisaties zijn Cometa-Oberta, Monte Solana en Monte Sella. Voordat de urbanisatie Monte Pedreguer werd gebouwd en in de eerste jaren van de urbanisatie, liepen er op de toegangsweg van de berg regelmatig herders met hun kudde. De bestaande (gruis)wegen op de berg waren toen Avenida del Garrofer en Carrer del Xiprer; de rest was ongerepte natuur. De eerste huizen van de urbanisatie Pedreguer werden gebouwd aan het eind van de jaren 70 van de vorige eeuw. Makelaars boden hun potentiele kopers een verzorgde reis aan om hun waar, stukken bouwgrond, aan te bieden. Hierop konden dan, naar eigen ontwerp en met behulp van bouwer en architect, woonhuizen op worden gebouwd. Op deze manier hebben veelal Nederlanders, Duitsers en Engelsen hier hun gedroomde vakantiehuis laten bouwen. In deze urbanisatie verblijven veelal niet-residenten.
Ook de eigenaars van deze cache zijn op deze manier in Pedreguer terecht gekomen, zij het dan als “tweede generatie”. Volgens de wens van de eerste eigenaars is het gebouwde huis “in de familie” gebleven en nu beleeft de tweede, derde én vierde generatie regelmatig van een heerlijk verblijf in deze prachtige omgeving.
Opvallend aan deze urbanisatie is de bijzonder fraaie toegangspoort, een initiatief van het toenmalige bestuur van de “Buren van Monte Pedreguer”. Het zwembad dat beneden aan de berg ligt, achter het restaurant Black Flame, was vroeger beschikbaar voor algemeen gebruik van de totale urbanisatie Monte Pedreguer. Later is het zwembad, legaal of niet, ingelijfd door de wijk Oquins, die beneden aan de berg ligt.
De cache “Monte Pedreguer” ligt aan de toegangsweg van de urbanisatie in de buurt van het restaurant “Black Flame”, voorheen “Monroes Restaurant & Carvery”. Om de cache te zoeken, kan het best geparkeerd worden op het parkeerterrein voor het restaurant. De cache is een (klein) doosje met logboekje (met bij de start ook wat leuke speeltjes voor kinderen), dat ook trackables kan bevatten. Een pen moet zelf meegebracht worden.
