Geocache Description:

A cache near an atmospheric Cornish Tor.

This cache is located at Helman Tor. The Tor is 680ft. high & on a clear day you can see the tors of Bodmin Moor to the north east. Away to the south west lie the artificially sculpted peaks of St Austell`s china clay mining country. Closer to Helman Tor are the nature reserves of Redmoor and Breney Common which are both well worth exploring. There is a small car park fairly high up on the hillside. Alternatively, you can start from Lowertown & follow the public footpath across Breney Common, this joins the track up the hill. . . The container is not on the main body of the Tor but is not too far away. . . Autumn 2022 - container replaced with a 4 litre plastic box. . . This replaces an earlier cache at the Tor (GCXG27) which has now been retired.
