7.15. Archive or unarchive a geocache
Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Easy drive by location in the heart of the Lyndoch Valley.
Please take care as parking is located on the bend of a busy Main Road. It is best to be coming from the North or Barossa direction and heading South, as the parking area is then available on the left handside of the road.

Lyndoch Valley, (or Lynedoch as it should be spelt), was christened by Governor Gawler. Governor Gawler served under General Thomas Graham (later known as Lord Lynedoch) in 1811 in Spain during the Peninsular War.

Colonel Light became the friend of Lord Lynedoch when the former was acting as confidential Aide-de-Camp to the great Duke of Wellington.

The indigenous people of this area knew the place as Putpa or Putpayerta people.

A portrait of Lord Lynedoch hangs in the Lyndoch Institute Hall.

On the way to GZ you will find the site of an historic grave.
Sarah's grave and tree are very close to where you will need to look to find this cache.

This cache was placed by a cacher that once lived in the mid north area. Adopted by Aussie M & M, with thanks, in March 2019.
