This cache is part of the Indiana County GeoTrail Ecotour series. The location is near the KCAC bridge in Indiana, PA. The cache container is a small, plastic ammo box. Parking is available in the parking lot near the bridge bordering Wayne Avenue or across the street.
This cache highlights a "no-mow" constructed riparian buffer zone that helps to improve stream quality. This is also the future site of the Allegheny Arboretum at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, also known as Confluence Park. It will highlight stormwater management, best management practices, and land and water use. It will also be a multi-purpose space for education. There will be a sustainable theme in gardens and lanscape. The cache site also will one day have access to the Hoodlebug Trail.
