We expect there will be door prizes, and we'll be sure to play at least one game that will challenge you to guess the true identity of Iowa's newest cache reviewer, Iowa.Landmark. Oriole Ridge Lodge will be available for this event until 2:30 PM so we might commence with the fun and games a little before Noon to make sure we have time for lunch.

We might even post some more valuable clues to the identify of Iowa.Landmark!
in addition to this event we will be publishing seven new traditional caches throughout Iowa. Each of these caches contains a trackable for the first finder, and each cache also contains a clue to the identity of Iowa.Landmark. When you post a "found it" log online for any one of these caches you'll earn one point toward a prize drawing to be held at the event. If you find and log all seven caches you get three bonus points for a total of ten entries for the drawing. When you log any of the seven caches please DO NOT share the clue and DO NOT include your guess at Iowa.Landmark's true identity...save that for the event please.
Also, when you sign the logbook at the event you'll receive a slip of paper where you can jot down your best guess for Iowa.Landmark's "real" geocaching name as well as your vote for "Iowa's Favorite Landmark". After the reviewer's true identify is revealed we'll tally up all the correct guesses and toss them in another hat for a second, special prize drawing. And shortly after the event we'll also tally up all the "Iowa's Favorite Landmark" votes and post that result here as well.
Right now there's no real organization for the potluck, but we'll make sure there are plenty of paper plates, plasticware, cups and napkins so don't worry about bringing those.
Please include THREE things in your "Will Attend" log:
- How many people in your party?
- What do you plan to bring to share at the potluck?
- Is there an Iowa Landmark you would like to nominate as consideration for the title of "Iowa's Favorite Landmark"?
As the event date approaches we'll have a look at what folks are bringing and supplement wth hot dogs, buns and drinks if necessary.
Also, if you have any trackables to share please log them to the event and bring 'em along. And if you have any items to donate to the prize pool (for door prizes, etc.) please let us know with an e-mail addressed to iowa.landmark.60@gmail.com.
