Geocache Description:

This is a webcam geocache at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The coordinates listed are for the intersection in the field of view for the webcam. Click here for the webcam page. You can coordinate with a friend to save your webcam picture, however, this webcam has a 24 hour archive of photos, which makes it very easy. However, as with most webcams, it is wise to check the page to make sure it is working before you make the attempt. There is a small tree between the sidewalk and the road in the center of the field of view of the webcam. You must upload your picture standing next to or leaning against this tree to log this cache. Photos and logs of people on the sidewalks or the road will be deleted. Find logs without photos will be deleted. Good luck and have fun!

Roll Tide!

Edit: 05/02/2003
It seems that the camera's field of view has changed downward. Perhaps the mount loosened. The aforementioned tree is no longer seen by the camera. Now, the bike rack in front of the building is what you must lean against for your picture to be logged. I'll continue to maintain this cache and post any changes in the camera's field of view. Edit: 05/17/2003
It looks like the mount was fixed. The field of view now includes both the original tree that I required for a log, and the bike rack. Either location will suffice now. Just lean against them for the qualifying log picture. Edit: 04/05/2004
Now the bike rack is gone. The field of view now includes both the original tree that I required for a log, and the lightpole/trashcan which was to the right of the bike rack. Either the tree (center field of view, across the intersection) or the telephone pole (foreground) will suffice now. Just lean against them for the qualifying log picture. Edit: 03/10/2005
Sorry to those of you who have tried recently to log this cache. The webcam archive page has been down (red X graphic) now for more than 2 months with no answer to emails. I always waffle between archiving this cache and leaving it up and of course now I'm considering archiving again. It is frustrating to me also when people can't log it correctly through no fault of their own. All I can say is check the link before you visit it.
