Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Silver Lake Park, which is located one-mile south from Hwy. 50 on Hwy. F (Silver Lake Rd.). The park is open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. (nice for you night cachers).

There are new rules for this area for 2010: Starting on May 29-September 6, only park patrons wishing to use the beach at Silver Lake will be charged to enter the beach parking area. ACCESS TO OTHER AREAS (this one) IS FREE...EXCEPT DURING THESE 3 HOLIDAY WEEKENDS: MEMORIAL DAY (May 29-31), 4th OF JULY (July 3-5), and LABOR DAY (September 4-6). All park patrons will pay to enter (Resident: $5 per vehicle, Non-resident: $10 per vehicle).

Of all the superstitions about worms, perhaps the greatest misconception is connected with the tapeworm, which is commonly found in the human body. It is untrue that this parasite has an enormous appetite. The tapeworm has no mouth and its food is actually absorbed through the surface of its body, which never causes an excessive appetite.

Another superstitious belief pertains to the earthworm. Most people believe that if an earthworm is cut in two, each half will become a new worm and they will live as 2 separate creatures. This is not true. The end with the “head” will usually grow a new tail and survive, but the “tail” section will usually die.

Other worm superstitions:
- To step on a worm will bring bad luck all day.
- To see earthworms in the autumn after a rain foretells a mild winter.
- If you kill a worm, you kill good luck.

Bring something to write with to sign the log. Please do not leave any trade items.
