Le Fort de Malonne fait partie de la ceinture de 9 forts construits autour de Namur à la fin du XIXème siècle.

En 1914, le Fort se rendit sans combattre. En 1940, le Fort subit de violentes attaques et ne se rendit qu’après avoir épuisé toutes ses capacités de riposte.

L’état du bunker situé aux coordonnées de la cache et chargé de protéger les flancs du fort en témoigne.

De Fort van Malonne behoort tot een reeks van 9 forten gebouwd rond Namen op het einde van de negentiende eeuw, met de Citadelle als Hoofdkwartier.

In 1914, het Fort gaf zich over zonder te vechten. In 1940, het Fort ging hevige aanvallen onder en capituleert alleen wanneer hij niet langer de capaciteit had om te reageren.

De toestand van de bunker gelegen op de coördinaten van de cache is getuigenis van harde tijden.

De Fort of Malonne is part of the belt of 9 forts built in the late nineteenth century around Namur, with the Citadelle as the Command Post.

In 1914, the Fort surrendered without a fight. In 1940, the Fort suffered violent attacks and only surrendered after it has exhausted all its capacity to respond.

The state of the bunker located at coordinates of the cache, charged to protect the flanks of the fort, is a testimony of these hard combats.
