Grassy Reserve near the Kuaotunu Beach Store
Placed this cache to get you to turn off the main road to come and have a look. We’ve been coming down to this area for 10 years and this is the first time we’ve turned off the road to come and have a look. We enjoyed some very nice coffee and carrot cake at the Café just along the road before finding a place to hide the cache. This little town boasts a volunteer fire brigade, historical building – The Hall, Petrol is available from the store. In the reserve is a very interesting statue. If anybody knows who did this and what it signifies let us know. Thanks. And thanks for Zinny22 for the following information about the statue "It's carved from a puriri tree trunk by local artist Chris Charteris. It has something to do with the whanau & wakas all coming together in one place." The Cache is a Medium "Mega" Camo Cannister. At the time of placement it contained: Log Sheet, Silica(Please do not take or eat), Stash Note and FTF Prize. 2 Smiley Badges, Decode Badge and TB. BYO Pen. Some stealth will be needed muggles may come upon you suddenly. PLEASE COVER THE CACHE WELL BEFORE LEAVING.
