Geocache Description:

Geocaching in Chehaw 2018 Meet and Great

What:  Spring has sprung.  It is time to get out and about and visit my favorite park.  Let’s get together, make new friends, share stories, have door prizes, and generally have fun.  After the Meet and Great, I wish to remind you that there are ten caches hidden in the park that you are welcome to try to sign.  However, this is a spring Saturday, so Muggles will be abundant.  Stealth will be required.

So let’s “Do Lunch”.  We will provide hot dogs, chips and drinks and you bring anything else you want.  Please “Will Come” as soon as possible so we will know how many Hotdogs to cook.

Where:  Parks at Chehaw, Albany, GA.  Campground shelter.  Being spring in south GA, there is always the possibility of rain.  So we will be in a screened in shelter.

When:  Saturday April 21, 2018 from noon to at least one pm.  Of course you can come early and stay after the Meet and Great and enjoy the rest of the park.  (It is a good chance we will.)

Park Information:  This event is located inside The Parks at Chehaw, Albany, GA.  This is one of my favorite parks for the whole family.  It has a children’s play park, picnic areas, BMX track, RC Race course, Disc Golf course, stocked catfish pond, nature trails, boat dock on Lake Chehaw, Mountain Bike Trail, miniature train ride, camping area and a zoo that has a safari ride.  The Parks host several major family oriented events throughout the year.

Like all outdoors in southwest Georgia, the park is blessed with wildlife to include some things to avoid (snakes, ticks, mosquitos - along with other biting insects.) and we can’t forget poison ivy and related plants.

Speaking of things to avoid, depending on the day, and time of day muggles may be around.  Thus stealth may be required!

Park Hours are daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Zoo Hours are daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There is an admission fee to enter the park.  This includes the children’s play park, picnic areas, BMX track, Disc Golf course, stocked catfish pond, nature trails, boat dock on Lake Chehaw, Mountain Bike Trail and camping area. Zoo tickets are additional cost.  Notify the person at the gate that you are with the “Geocachers”.

Adults (13-61) - $3.00; Children (4-12) - $2.00; Senior Adults and Military - $2.00.  They also have season tickets priced based on family size.
