A barber by trade, Jimmy Carpenter opened this barber shop in 1962. He enjoyed hunting, and when his wife complained that his trophy mounts were overcrowding their home, Jimmy decided to move all of them to his barber shop. Over the years, he continued to hunt and create mounts that became great conversation starters in this small town barber shop. As the town grew, so did this shop's fame. When Jimmy had the polar bear mounted, they actually blocked off Texas Avenue and he put the bear in the back seat of his convertible and people came from all over to see him and his bear. In recent years, Jimmy's great nephew, Chris Roux, has taken over the barber shop. He wanted to provide a place that allows for a 1962 kind of service, including shoe shines, for many generations running. Trophy Barber Shop has been featured on shows like The DayTripper and the Bucket List!
