Geocache Description:

This is a Challenge cache requiring you to "be worth" £100,000 before you can log this cache as found!

This cache is a challenge cache at the given coordinates. Challenge caches require that you fulfil certain criteria before you are allowed to log your find. The rules to this cache are simple - you must be "worth it"!

Maybe you're like me and you've dreamt of getting paid to go Geocaching. Wouldn't that be an incentive to quit your job?! For this cache, you have to imagine that you are being paid to go Geocaching. Your wages are based on what cache types you've found and you can only log a find for "Because You're Worth It" if you are worth £100,000 or more!

So how do you know how much you've earned? Below is a list showing all the cache types, past and present. Not included are Waymarks or Benchmarks. If you have found or completed any of these, that's nice, but it won't benefit you for logging this cache.

Cache types are roughly valued on rarity or difficulty, so a Wherigo cache, for example, will pay more than your bog-standard Traditional as they're harder to come by. Here is what each cache type is worth:

£100 per Traditional Cache
£200 per Multi-Cache
£400 per Virtual Cache
£500 per Letterbox Hybrid
£300 per [standard] Event Cache (do not include other event types under this heading)
£400 per CITO Event
£500 per Mega-Event
£700 per 10 Years! Lost & Found Event
£1000 for the Groundspeak Lost & Found Celebration
£1000 per Groundspeak Block Party
£300 per Mystery / Unknown / Puzzle / Challenge Cache
£900 for the Groundspeak HQ
£900 per Project A.P.E. Cache
£600 per Webcam Cache
£500 per Locationless (Reverse) Cache
£400 per Earthcache
£800 per GPS Adventures Exhibit
£600 per Wherigo Cache
£700 per Lab Cache
£1000 per Giga Event

Some notes on cache types: Some of these do not exist any more. Locationless caches were sort of reinvented years later as Geocaching "Challenges", both were unsuccessful attempts at having geocaching without physical containers. I think Groundspeak have decided to leave this type of quest to Waymarking.com and the more popular Virtual caches which are still in existence. The Project APE series, created to promote the Planet of the Apes film have largely been archived. For a while there was only one left, and that was in the middle of the rainforest in Brazil! Its most popular, Tunnel of Light, in Washington state was found years after going missing and has been brought out of archive. The Groundspeak HQ, known as the Lilypad, is a unique Mystery Cache found in Seattle. Lost & Found Events were held exclusively in May 2010 to celebrate the first decade of Geocaching. Two cache types, Virtual and Webcam, can still be found but no longer routinely created, although between 2017 and 2018 Groundspeak did allow for the new creation of 4000 new virtuals worldwide which has brought them back out of such rarity. A GPS Adventures Exhibit is worth a lot because you can't attend one very often and has only been in the UK once (at the 2016 North Wales Mega).

So now you know how much each cache type is worth, here's where you have to do some maths. You need to add up all the caches you've found to see how much you're worth. If you are worth £100,000 or more (prior to finding this cache), you are welcome to seek out Because You're Worth It and then log it here. To save manually working out your worth, mole125 has wonderfully created a tool on Project-GC to do the leg work for you. Here's the link. When you log a find online, please add what you are worth at the time of finding to your log as it will be interesting to see how wealthy we all are and I can easily update the grand total below. I will check to make sure that you have fulfilled logging requirements and will challenge it if I believe you are not yet worth enough! "Found It" logs which fail to meet this requirement will be deleted.

The cache is placed near the start of a path into the woods in North Stoneham. There are several ways to get here, so have a look at the waypoints below to decide your preferred approach. At time of placement the cache contains a fair number of things. Please do not remove the log book, pen, pencil, rubber or sharpener in the bag and if you do take anything else, remember to trade up or trade even. The starting trinkets have mainly been aimed at kids. I have no idea who will want the potato, but there you go.

Since hiding the cache in 2011, a housing estate has been built on the fields and the woodland path is no longer as accessible as it was. The original cache container is stuck behind land fenced off by Vivid which looks to be in place for quite a while! Therefore, a new container has been placed not far from the old one but which should remain accessible throughout the construction process. It is now easiest to park within the housing estate (there is a visitors' car park near the playground). From the playground area, head up the gravel path towards the large black houses and follow the path into the secluded woodland. Keep an eye out for deer the other side of the fence! The cache is hidden off the main path, but not far away. You can sign the log if you have found the cache but please only log online when you have found the box and meet the challenge criteria. Good luck!

So far, geocachers who have logged this cache have been worth a combined total of £119,039,700!
