Geocache Description:

Stormwater monitoring station

The City of Coeur d'Alene is required to measure, sample and test at least 4 storm events per year. This is a requirement of the EPA's permitting process under the Clean Water Act of 1972. These free-standing cabinets house a flow measuring device and a 24-hour flow-weighted sampler and only takes samples during a measurable storm event. There is also a rain gage. This unit is sampling stormwater in a main pipe that drains most of the Ironwood Dr. area. Tests include total suspended solds, nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen. At elevation 2141 +/-.

Congratulations Rocketpianoman for FTF! Be sure to replace it with the proper orientation.

There a lot of muggles on the trail.
