Hello gang! It's been a while but September and October are usually very busy for me, but the weather has already turned nice, so we might as well enjoy it! Coquina Beach is a beautiful park on Anna Maria island. The park and road run parallel to the beach, which can be accessed by several nearby paths just over the dunes.
The park includes picnic tables, many with built in BBQ grills. There are restrooms and shower off facilities nearby.
UPDATE: Do to the small group attending, the potluck has basically cancelled, unless you'd like to bring something.
The park includes picnic tables, many with built in BBQ grills. There are restrooms and shower off facilities nearby. I'd like to do this as a potluck picnic, so if you decide to come, please comment on what you want to bring so we don't wind up with 20 bags of chips and 3 coolers of water and pop. Please be fair in the potluck (the 'equal trade" rule of geocaching). If you don't wish to participate, please just bring your own cooler with whatever you need. BYOB, however, be responsible and have a sober friend take you home. Absolutely NO glass bottles on on the beach!
Well-mannered children are welcome, however, geo-dogs are not (my Loki is not pleased). Please feel free to also bring out-door sports, such as Frisbees, etc. I don't have kids so I have no idea what's out there these days.
I would love to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones. We have 86 members on our MeetUp group as it is, but I've also only met about 20 of you. Even if you are not a member of our group, that's ok! EVERY GEOCACHER (and friends) OUT THERE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND!
The travel buy hotel will be there for anyone who wants to drop off, pick up or just discover and share. I would like to say I'll have some new trackables as I can, but we'll be up in NC so I won't promise that one. Some of you can attest, I am pretty good at giving away pretty good Geocaching treats. Sometimes even in the form of a pinyata of goodies! I would also like to get some input on something I have partially thought out for the Christmas event
So I hope to see some familiar faces, and several new ones. Weather permitting we won't get rain like last time.
