Geocache Description:

I am looking for posted speed limits that do not end in '5' or '0'.

NOTE: 8/15/2005 - THIS CACHE WILL BE ARCHIVED IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND MOVED TO WAYMARKING.COM
When I learned to drive, I quickly came to realize that speed limits in the United States are supposed to be evenly divisible by 5.
Once in a while, some local governing board will make an unusual speed limit in order to draw attention to it.
The example I have put here is from a corporate campus in Houston, Texas.

How many other odd speed limits can you find?

The rules are simple:

  • Include limits which are not evenly divisible by 5, or
are in excess of 70 MPH
    (in your local units of
measurement, as written on the sign).
  • One speed limit per individual or team.
  • One posting per location.
  • One posting per sign.
  • Post signs that are labeled in local units
of measurement (MPH in the U.S.).
  • Please be sure to type the posted speed limit into
    your log entry.
  • Please include the location (city, state, and highway
    name, where applicable).
  • Be sure to post the coordinates of your find.
  • Please post the standard GPS-in-the-picture proof
    shot.
  • And last but not least, let's be careful out there.
The following speed limits have been reported. Do you have others?
1/4 2 3 4-6
4.5 5.5 6 6 1/8
6.5 6.75 7 7.5
8 8.2 8.5 9

11.5 12 12.5 12 2/3
13 13.5 14 14.5
16 17 18 18.5
19 19.5 21 22
23 24 26 27
28 29 31 33
37.5 48
"LSZ" "NONE" "Suggested" "Unlimited"
"No Faster Than a Walk"
75 80 100 130

NOTE: Effective immediately (3/25/03), only speed limits that do not end in '0' or '5' will be allowed.
Existing entries will be grandfathered.

Thanks!!

NOTE: Effective immediately (10/9/04), since some people seem to be playing loose and free with their interpretation of "One posting per location.", only one post per sign will be accepted.
Existing entries (might) be grandfathered..

Thanks!!
