Geocache Description:

The cache looks like a plastic test tube with a screw top

As I explored the area looking for a suitable cache hiding spot I was cautiously watched by 19 kangaroos so I thought it might be a good name for the cache.

The area is part of Plenty Gorge Park. Early settlers used this as grazing land. There are historical sites in the area and many old fences still exist. The vegetation is a mixture of original forest and well established regrowth forest. The ground vegetation is thick in places but criss-crossed by many tracks that are used by mountain bike riders, walkers, kangaroos and other widlife.

The cache is on the Western side of Plenty River. There is no safe access from the Eastern side of the river unless you take a long detour.

The coordinates were taken with a Garmin GPSMAP 78 with the average of 6 results taken over 2 days being used.

On street parking is available in Queens Gardens, Bundoora. From here, if you navigate to a track junction at S 37 41.109 E 145 05.779 you will find that one of the tracks leads you towards the cache area. Alternatively, parking is also available in Kariboo Grove, Greensborough. From here you can follow trails Northwards towards the cache. The cache is about a 700 – 800 meter walk from either access point.
