The cache is hidden in a pile of rocks, under a small hawthorn
tree, on a steep grassy hillside. The nearest parking place is
about 1.5 miles away at 53º 13.698' N, 4º 0.319' W, and the cache
is close to the impressive 200' Aber Falls waterfall.
The container is a green ammunition box, and is under a tree,
hidden in a pile of rocks (see pictures "Open" and "Closed" to see
which rock to remove. Be warned, though, there are several decoy
trees on the way up :) Please look at the pictures to see which
rock to remove. Don't go pulling the hillside apart - it took me a
long time to make the hidey-hole for this cache
Inside, there is something to read, something for the parched
traveller (don't forget your swiss army knife), something for the
computer enthusiast, something to remind you of the area, and a few
other items.
We've also put in a disposable camera, so please take a pic of
yourself. Current photos are here
(may contain spoilers). If you see yourself, please add your name
under the picture! Second camera-ful of photos uploaded
Aber falls is a good day out for all the family - impressive
scenery, fun in the stream for small people, and wild ponies. The
fall itself is at 53º 12.637' N, 3º 59.735' W. However, the steep
hillside near the cache is impossible for buggies, might not be
suitable for small children, and may be slippery in wet weather
