After some preliminary discussions with city hall, it looks like we have a CITO event in Brampton this year. Loafers Lake Park has been selected as the location. This park surrounds the headwaters of the Etobicoke Creek which runs from here, down through Mississauga, Etobicoke, and eventually into Lake Ontario. Acting as a run off drainage system, the creek has been preserved as a lushes green space full of wild life, and a few chaches.
This year’s event will concentrate on the area surrounding Loafer’s Lake Recreation Centre and heading north. There is plenty of parking at the center. The event will begin at 9:00 AM and run throughout the day, so if you can’t make it at 9:00, just show up when ever you can, you’re bound to bump into a cacher or two. All cachers with radios please set them to channel 2, the official geocaching channel.
Please post a note if you plan on attending, and how many people in your group, so we can get an idea of how many people are coming. I will post more information as it becomes available.
The city will be providing gloves and garbage bags as well as picking up the bags after words. All those that have offered to bring supplies, bring them just incase. You never know and thank you very much.
