Geocache Description:

Medium l'n'l with usual swag. You must enter from the road located west of this cache. The entrance is approximately 1 mile west of the cache location and is marked by a large sign.

There is no church here anymore, unfortunately. But, the drive in to the location is absolutely beautiful! A true country lane. I am not sure if the road is plowed in the winter, however. This used to be the location of the Saint Onuphrius Ukrainian Catholic Church. The sign names it as St. Onyfry. It was quite a small church erected in 1906 and has since been moved to Quebec. A new, larger church was built in Smoky Lake when this one became too small for the congregation. The bell tower still stands and there is a cemetery with gravemarkers dating back as far as 1909. There is a monument located on the old foundation where the church used to stand.

The drive alone makes this one worth finding. Enjoy!
