Long ago, within the vast and mostly uncharted rainforests of South
Terce Isle, there was a tribe living in a village known as Oxfont,
they had discovered great wealth and to protect it from discovery
from nearby maurauding tribes from Horniest Hampton and Brogue
Thorpe, they invented an early manual encryption device. Legend has
it that a template or key was needed to decrypt the code that gave
the position of the hidden wealth, but of course the template has
long been lost, and many scholars have been unable to find the
cache of treasure.
Recently a hint or clue in the form of two words have been
discovered in the form of a puzzle near to the six pointed obelisk
with the carved code upon it. It is hoped that soon, a template can
be made, that will decrypt the code, and lead to the treasure. How
it was actually used remains one of the mysteries, but it is
thought that the template had nine holes in it, and when used
correctly, revealed the secret location in conjunction with another
puzzle. This is where the world turned upsidedown and the scholars
failed!!!
The puzzle with the two word hint, took the form of a modern
Su-Doku with the same rules, but letters were used instead of
numbers. The hint runs diagonally from top left to bottom
right.
The letters to be used are :-
A : B : E : P : R : S : T : X : Z :
A copy of the carved obelisk is reproduced below.
For the co-ord grid you get three words, and by adding one extra
letter you get three different words. The added letter replaces the
number in the grid. You can not just add an S to make a plural, so
that rules out the letter S in the answers.
The co-ord grid required is as follows:-
N 52-(1)(2) . (3)(4)(5)
W 000-(6)(7) . (8)(9)(10)
Notes.
Great Stealth required not to get muggled.
Please don't download any pictures that would give the location
away.
If you are having a lot of trouble with the puzzles, e.mail for a
bit of a clue.
Congratulations to the 1st,2nd & 3rd to find.
