Geocache Description:

This cache is a three stage multi and will take you for a hike through the park passing the scenic overlooks as you gather informaton for the final coordinates. This cache is only available between Dawn and Dusk.

You will have the opportunity to look out over the valley between the Allegheny Front to the west and the mountain ridges to the east.

Chimney Rocks Park is home to the oldest active cache in Blair County as well as a few others.

It also is home to Chimney Rocks. At stage one you will find the Rocks. The wall of rock was where signal fires of Indians burned messages to the warriors in the valley below. Local lore claims the chief of the local Native American tribe would sit in this area and view his tribe.
A bronze marker has been placed on the "Pulpit Rock" sadly this historical plaque has been removed (7/14/2023)You will need the year  this plaque was dedicated to find the final. Add the sum of the numbers of the year to the Longitude listed below in this description.Since vandalism has taken a toll on the plaque use the number 16.

Continue along the trail to a sign that reads unapproved trail and take it down the hill to the next stage. Here you will need to count the decking boards. This number will be subtracted from the Latitutde listed below in this description.

These are the coordinates you will work with:                    N 40 25.113, W 078 23.166
