Tutong : Bukit Bendera Traditional Geocache

A large white sign bearing the name “Bukit Bendera” in Roman alphabet and Jawi script was installed on a hill overlooking the former site of the Muda Hashim Primary School, where plans are under way to develop a garden for herbs, fruits and flowers as well as a lookout tower.

Landmarks were officially unveiled by the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman, during his working visit yesterday.

Tutong District Office positioned the eye-catching signs at places with historical significance and budding tourism. The signs were also fitted with lights to brighten the areas at night.

Maintained by the Pekan Tutong Mukim Consultative Council, the landmarks will be used as a focal point for organising recreational activities to bring members of the community together as well as working programmes to promote the economic potential of tourism
