Geocache Description:

15 May 2021, 10:00 - 13:00

IMPORTANT NOTICE: DUE TO THE RECENT SNOW ACTIVITY, I DON'T FEEL THAT THERE WILL BE ENOUGH SNOW MELT TO EFFECTIVELY CLEAN UP THE PARK. THIS EVENT IS BEING POSTPONED ONE MONTH TO MAY. I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL MAY 15TH!

The snow is basically gone in Anchorage, and a lot of trash has been left in the wake! Join me for a cleanup hosted at Kincaid Park. We'll have trashbags laid out for cachers to come grab.

To keep it COVID-19 safe and maintain social distancing, I am setting this event up over a three hour timeframe so people can come and space out. I'll be laying bags and gloves out for people to pickup (each set distanced about 6 ft apart) and will have lysol wipes to wipe down the grabber claws before and after use.  Please wait until the person(s) in front of you grab their bag and tools to clean up to prevent crowding and stay COVID compliant.

Please only pick up trash with members in your immediate household or bubble. I highly suggest taking photos while picking up trash and posting them in the event logs (and sharing them to our facebook page!)

We hope you'll stay and pick up trash for at least an hour!

This is a huge park with a lot of ground to cover! You an pick up your bag and drive to a different part of the park to clean, or start walking from our parking spot to the trails nearby.

As always, please take your own personal safety seriously and don't come just for the smiley. Those who are considered a vulnerable population are recommended to continue staying home. Facial coverings/masks are strongly recommended. To properly use gloves as PPE, do not touch your face or phone with the gloves on - use them just for picking up trash and remove them and place them in your trashbag before touching personal items. Always sanitize your hands if soap and water are not available. And keep your distance from others who are not in your immediate household!
